For the love of bridges

I'd just like to take this opportunity to point out the obvious that there are in fact more bridges than just the Golden Gate in San Francisco, and they're all interesting in their own ways.

The San Francisco - Oakland Bay Bridge is double-decker, has just had a large refurbishment, and is very impressive, being suspension on one side and cantilever on the other, connected by a tunnel through Yerba Buena Island.

The Dumbarton Bridge, you guessed it, was named after Dumbarton, Scotland, because of the likeness in terrain!

And the final bridge linking to the peninsula is the Hayward - San Mateo. This is a monster to drive at about 7miles long, and does feel like you're driving on the water at times!

To the north of the bay there is the Richmond - San Rafael Bridge. This is the only one we didn't go over, always good to leave something for the next visit right?
